Fence Line & Right-of-Way Clearing in Whitehouse, TX

Overgrown fence rows, property lines, easements and ranch roads cut back to a clean strip you can fence, survey and drive.

Fence Lines in Whitehouse

Fence lines disappear fast in Smith County. Yaupon and briar grow up through the wire, sweetgum saplings push the posts over, and within a few years you cannot walk the line, let alone fix it. Property lines go the same way, and so do pipeline easements, power line rights-of-way and the ranch roads that get you to the back of the place. I clear those strips back to a clean, consistent width the whole length of the line. For a fence that means mulching the brush off the old wire so you can pull it and set new posts, with a buffer on each side so it does not close back in by next summer. For a property line it means opening a clear sight line so a surveyor can find the pins and you can see where your land stops. For easements and lanes it means a strip wide enough to drive and maintain. Linear clearing is its own kind of work: you need a clean edge, a steady width and a machine that can work tight along wire without tearing up the pasture on either side. That is what the mulcher does best, and I do a lot of it on ranchettes and acreage from Lindale to Jacksonville and Canton to Gilmer.

Fence Line & Right-of-Way Clearing in Whitehouse, TX

Land clearing in Whitehouse

Whitehouse is the first town south of Tyler on Hwy 110, the Troup Highway, and it has grown from a crossroads into one of the busiest homesite markets in Smith County. Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East sit right on its east side, FM 346 runs out to Flint and Bullard on the west, and the ground in between is rolling pine and post oak timber that has been subdivided into acreage lots as fast as the school district could keep up. The soil is sandy and the understory is yaupon, which means every new owner here has the same first job: get into the woods they bought. I clear homesites along Hwy 110 and FM 346, open up lake lots on Lake Tyler so the owner can see the water, take out beetle-killed pines before they fall on something, and mulch the understory on tracts between Whitehouse and Teaselville so a family can actually use the acreage behind the house. Because so many of these lots back up to a neighbor or to the lake, the work is selective by nature. I keep the mulcher off the property line, leave the big trees, and grind the stumps so the yard mows clean. You get a per-acre or per-job price after a walk, and the price holds.

  • Fence rows mulched clean so posts can be set and wire stretched
  • Property lines opened for sight, survey and marking
  • Pipeline, utility and access easements cleared to width
  • Ranch roads, lanes and lease roads reopened
  • Clean edge and steady width the full length of the line
  • Mowable buffer left so the line stays open

Common Clearing Scenarios in Whitehouse

The land clearing jobs I see most around here, and how I handle them.

Lake lots you cannot see the water from

Lots on Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East grow shut with yaupon, sweetgum and briars down to the shoreline. I underbrush the lot to open the view and the walk to the water while leaving the oaks and pines that shade it.

Acreage lots with a house and a thicket behind it

A lot of Whitehouse homes sit on two to five acres where the back half is a wall of brush nobody has been into since the house was built. Mulching the understory turns that into walkable woods for kids, dogs and a shop pad.

Beetle-killed and storm-damaged pines near homes

Loblolly pines die standing after a beetle hit or a lightning strike, and spring storms crack water oaks. I take those down in sections near a house and grind the stumps so the spot is safe and mowable.

Fence Lines in Whitehouse: FAQs

Do you work on lots around Lake Tyler?
All the time. Opening a lake lot is one of the most common jobs I do in Whitehouse: clear the understory, open a view corridor to the water, take out the dead trees and leave the shade. I stay off the shoreline and off the neighbor’s line.
Can you clear the back acreage behind my house without wrecking the yard?
Yes. The mulcher is a tracked machine that gets in through a gate or a side yard and works back from there. It leaves chips, not ruts, and I lay out the route with you before I start so nothing you care about gets driven over.
How much to underbrush a few acres in Whitehouse?
Light to moderate yaupon under mature pines is the most affordable kind of clearing I do, and a few acres is usually a one-day job. Thicker growth with saplings costs more. I walk it and give you a firm number.
Can you clear a fence line without wrecking the existing fence?
Yes. I work tight and controlled along standing wire, grinding the brush and briars off the fence without pulling the posts. If the fence is already destroyed by growth through it, I will tell you what is worth saving and what is easier to replace once the line is open.
How wide a strip do you clear?
It depends on what the line is for. A fence wants a strip wide enough to set posts and stretch wire with a mower width on each side. Pipeline and utility easements often have a required width. Tell me what the strip is for and I clear a clean, consistent line to match.
Can you open up a property line so I can get it surveyed?
That is a common job. I clear a sight line along the boundary so the surveyor can find the pins and shoot the line, and so you can see your corners from the road. If you know roughly where the pins are, flag them and I will clear to them.
